Sasan Gir National Park, also known as Gir Forest National Park, is a renowned wildlife sanctuary located in Gujarat, India. It is the only place in the world where the Asiatic lions can be found in their natural habitat. Sasan Gir National Park is a significant conservation area and plays a crucial role in the preservation of this endangered species.The park is most famous for its population of Asiatic lions (Panthera leo persica). It is estimated that around 500 lions inhabit the park. Apart from lions, the park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including leopards, Indian deer species such as sambar, chital (spotted deer), and nilgai (blue bull), wild boars, Indian gazelles, and various bird species.The main attraction in Sasan Gir is the lion safari, where visitors have the opportunity to see the majestic Asiatic lions up close. Lion safaris are organized in specially designed open-roofed vehicles that take visitors on guided tours through the park. These safaris are conducted by trained guides who provide information about the lions and other wildlife.Sasan Gir National Park is also a haven for birdwatchers. The park is home to over 300 bird species, including rare and migratory birds. Some notable bird species found in the park are the Indian eagle-owl, paradise flycatcher, painted stork, white-naped woodpecker, and various species of vultures, eagles, and owls.

Day1
Arrival in Ahmedabad – a World Heritage City. Proceed towards Gir (400Kms/8 Hours) - the only abode of the Asiatic Lions in the world. The Gir National Park, sprawling over 1412 sq km of land, comprises deciduous forests interspersed with rocky terrains of evergreen trees, grasses, shrubs and herbs. It is one of the few places in the world, where wild lions can be seen in their natural habitat. Besides, it has a major concentration of leopards, sambar deer, spotted deers, nilgais, wild boars and Indian gazelles. Other mammals that thrive in Gir are striped hyena, jackal, rusty-spotted cat, langur, porcupine and black-naped hare. Chousingha, the world's only four-horned antelope, is also spotted here.
