Sundarbans National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the delta region of the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Meghna rivers between India and Bangladesh. It is known for being the largest mangrove forest in the world and is shared by both countries, with the majority of the park situated in Bangladesh,Sundarbans National Park is situated in the southern part of Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. Sundarbans is globally recognized for its extensive mangrove forests. These mangroves act as a buffer against cyclones and tidal waves, while also providing a unique ecosystem that supports a variety of plant and animal life. The dominant mangrove species found here is the Sundri tree (Heritiera fomes), along with other mangrove species like the Gewa (Excoecaria agallocha), Keora (Sonneratia apetala), and Hental (Phoenix paludosa).Sundarbans National Park is also designated as a tiger reserve, and it forms an important part of tiger conservation efforts in the region. The Sundarbans is home to a significant population of Royal Bengal tigers, adapted to the mangrove environment. It is estimated that there are around 100 tigers in the Indian part of the Sundarbans.
